This all began thanks to a facebook post from a friend. More specifically, a link to an article on Cracked.com entitled 6 Harsh Truths That Will Make You a Better Person. It wasn’t so much that the article got me thinking about bettering myself, changing things, New Year’s resolutions, etc… It was the words “The human mind is a miracle, and you will never see it spring more beautifully into action than when it is fighting against evidence that it needs to change.” Being one who doesn’t back down from a challenge, I dwelled on this for a few days before coming up with my most ambitious set of goals ever.
This site is dedicated to me sharing this journey with you. Why? Because every article you read about effective goal setting says you need to have someone to hold you accountable. That someone, dear reader, is now you. You may be the only person who reads this blog in 2013, or you may be one of a hundred or more. But either way, I’m using the ultimate form of peer pressure – public consumption – to help me make this my best year ever.
My goals are specific. My goals are attainable. My goals are myriad. They run the entire gamut from personal to professional; from fatherhood to friendship; from being a better husband to being a better housekeeper. There is no doubt that I am challenging myself and at the end of the year, if I do this, I will have achieved more personal milestones in these 12 months than in my entire lifetime prior to 2013.
You can check out the full list of goals here.
This is my journal. I hope it inspires you. Make 2013 your year.
